Rodents are probably the single most common call we get from Harrington Park homeowners. Once the weather turns, a gap beneath a garage door or around a utility line can be all a mouse needs to get inside. Attics and insulation make particularly good nesting spots, while kitchens provide the food they’re looking for. Traps and bait deal with the rodents already there, but the longer-term job is finding those gaps and closing them so another mouse doesn’t simply take their place.

Bed bugs usually arrive differently. A suitcase after a trip, a piece of secondhand furniture or belongings moved between properties can be enough to bring them indoors. We don’t receive as many bed bug calls in Harrington Park as we do for rodents or ants, but when they do turn up, finding the extent of the infestation comes first. From there, treatment may involve heat or carefully targeted chemical applications.

Near the Oradell Reservoir, a shady backyard can become uncomfortable surprisingly quickly once mosquito season gets going. Deer ticks are another concern around wooded property lines and areas of longer grass.
