Twin Boro’s Proven Process for Stink Bug Pest Control

Our inspection includes a thorough visual survey and the use of monitoring devices to locate stink bug entry points and harborage sites.
From the findings in our inspection, we implement a customized stink bug treatment program which can include the application of insecticides to cracks and crevices, entry points, and high-activity areas.
Additional measures to prevent the return of stink bugs may be recommended such as the sealing of any gaps around doors, windows, utility lines and appliance vents, and the reduction of exterior bright-white lighting, an attractant to stink bugs.

Stink bugs seek warmth and shelter in colder months, gaining access into properties through any structural crack or crevice. Stink bugs are not dangerous, but they emit a foul odor when threatened. This pungent odor can linger for several hours on surfaces.

“Joe Graney was extremely professional, considerate and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to make sure our house was left protected from pests inside and out, while also making sure not to leave any mess behind. Very satisfied with his service. Also happy with everyone on the team I have had the pleasure to meet so far when I have called.”

— Mona S.

“Roy is phenomenal. I used Terminix when I bought my home and got the corporate run around, missed appointments, rushed service, and crazy prices. I recently switched to Twin Boro and Roy has been great, helping with every issue, he climbs into the toughest spaces in my house and gets the job done. I would highly recommend Roy to anyone who in need of pest control.”

— Marc P.

“Roy came to my house because I had some carpenter ants coming in from outside. He was very knowledgeable as well as professional, he never tried to sell me on anything that wasn’t needed. He put down the right treatment and I haven’t seen any ants since. I would recommend Twin Boro to all of my friends who are in need of their service.”

Frequently asked questions

What do stink bugs look like and why are they concerning?
Stink Bugs are winged, shield-shaped insects that belong to the order Hemiptera. They have three body segments, two antennae, and six legs that protrude from the sides of their body. They have wings that are leathery near the head and membranous near the rear. Stink Bugs are almost as wide as they are long. They range in color and size depending on their species.
Where do stink bugs live?
During warmer weather, stink bugs will gather in places that have a lot of sun exposure. Some such places include the sides of buildings and around the outsides of windows and doors. If they find cracks or gaps, they will enter a building. They usually enter when the weather starts to cool down.
Why do I have a stink bug problem?
Stink Bugs, like many other insects, enter into homes and businesses in search of shelter and a comfortable living environment. They tend to enter though gaps surrounding doors and windows, cracks in drainage systems, cracks in ventilation systems, poorly screened or open doors and windows, cracks in the foundation, and underneath siding.
When are stink bugs active?
During warmer months, stink bugs are happy to live outside. They will typically enter buildings in late summer or early fall when the weather begins to cool. They remain hidden during the winter months and become active again during the spring. As they emerge from their winter homes, they can be seen wandering around looking for a way outside. Once outside, they will lay their eggs, which will hatch and develop into a new generation of adult stink bugs. In warmer areas, stink bugs reproduce throughout the year.
