Home Pest Control

Home pest control is designed to shield every part of your home and yard against pests. At Twin-Boro, we practice Integrated Pest Management, or IPM. IPM utilizes the most up-to-date knowledge of each pest’s behavior, anatomy, and habitat to directly target the pests themselves. Other pest control methods are broader and less targeted, and they aim to simply eliminate existing pest populations. Such methods do very little to prevent recurring infestations, and they tend to lean on the use of harmful pesticides. IPM allows us to effectively eliminate the source of an infestation and prevent recurrences. Additionally, IPM limits the use of pesticides thereby making it a safer and more environmentally sound form of pest control.

Why It Is Important To Protect Your Home

Pests are deemed pests for a reason. Even simple nuisance pests are incredibly disruptive to everyday life, especially if an infestation is severe. More dangerous pests like rodents are known to carry diseases, bacteria, and parasites which they spread to surfaces, foods, and household members. Certain pests can cause significant damage to personal items while others can compromise a home’s structural integrity. Unfortunately, most insurance policies do not cover damages caused by pest infestations. As such, it is best to stop infestations before they happen with a recurring pest control service.

Service Plans

All of our residential service plans include year-round protection from pests. Most pests can be prevented from the outside, which means we are able to limit the amount of pest control done indoors. We provide seasonal visits to both reinforce existing protection and add any necessary new protection. Here is a summary of what to expect during each seasonal visit:

Spring Services

Spring visits occur between March and May. During the visit, our expert technician will treat around windows and doors and under siding. A protective granular barrier will be placed around the exterior of your home to prevent pests from entering. We will also treat unfinished basements, crawlspaces, garages, and trash areas.

Summer Services

Summer services occur between June and August. We will reapply the same treatments applied during the Spring, and we will place granular baits in mulch beds. The technician will perform an exterior inspection to check for signs of pests, and any bee or wasp nests will be removed.

Fall Services

Fall services occur between September and November, during which we reinforce the protection provided during spring and summer visits. The aim of the fall visit is to create a barrier strong enough to keep out pests that are looking for a place to overwinter.

Winter Services

Winter visits occur between December and February. During the winter, technicians perform an interior inspection to check for and eliminate any pests that have managed to make their way into your home to overwinter.

How Does The Pest Control Process Work?

Inspection and Estimate

Before creating a pest control plan, a technician will perform a free inspection of your property and provide you with an estimate. The inspection will determine which pests are present, where they are most problematic, and how severe the infestation is. The estimate will be calculated according to the information gathered during the inspection, as well as the size, location, and risk factors associated with your property.

Creating A Pest Control Plan

Once we have gathered all of the necessary information, we will work with you to build a service plan that eliminates all of the pests on your property as quickly as possible and keeps them gone.

Treatment And Monitoring

When the treatment plan is solidified, we will schedule our seasonal service visits. We will monitor your property for any new pest problems that may pop up, and if you find pests between your regularly scheduled treatments, you can call us for an emergency treatment at no additional cost. You’ll receive a log book of our visits, as well as a detailed report of each visit.

FAQ’s

Why is professional pest control important?

For many, the first thought when pests show up is DIY pest control. Unfortunately though, DIY methods typically prolong an infestation rather than eliminate it, allowing it to actually get worse in the meantime. What’s more, DIY pest control is potentially dangerous- especially if it is not applied correctly. Conversely, a professional pest control technician is able to accurately assess where an infestation stems from, stop it at the source, and prevent it from recurring, all in a manner which addresses the specific needs of your property. An expert also knows exactly which pest control methods to use and how, which allows the extermination of pests in a safer and more effective manner. Finally, a pest control professional can assess how much structural damage has been done by pests.

How often should pest control be done?

Depending on your property’s needs and location, pest control should be done either quarterly (seasonally), bimonthly, or monthly. Bimonthly and monthly treatments are usually only necessary for severe infestations or for properties that are especially prone to pests. Most often, seasonal treatments are sufficient for single-family residential properties.

How much does professional pest control cost?

Pest control plans vary in cost depending on a number of elements, including property location, infestation level, property size, and potential risk factors. The experts at Twin-Boro Termite and Pest Control will evaluate your property and give you a fair estimate based on these factors before customizing your pest control plan accordingly.

What if new pests arrive on my property?

If Twin-Boro has already treated your property for a certain pest and the same pest shows up again, we will provide additional treatments at no cost to you. If brand new pests show up, call our office and we will work with you to revise your treatment plan to include extermination of the new pest. No matter what pest problems pop up on your property, Twin-Boro has your back.

Are Twin-Boro’s services guaranteed?

All of our service plans are guaranteed, which means that if the pests return, so will we. If you find signs of pest activity between your seasonal visits, we will send a technician to take care of the problem at no additional cost to you. All exterminations of wood destroying pests, like termites and carpenter ants, have a one-year warranty which is transferable to the new owner should you sell your home.
